Champagne Laherte Frères

In Chavot, in the Coteaux Sud d’Épernay, the Laherte family has been cultivating vines since 1889, when Jean-Baptiste Laherte founded the estate and planted his first vines in the village, then known as Chavost.

Today, the sixth and seventh generations work side by side, with Aurélien Laherte leading this new generation since 2005. The estate covers just over 11 hectares across 75 plots, mainly spread between Chavot, the Côte des Blancs and the Vallée de la Marne.

At Laherte Frères, the philosophy is rooted in respect for living soils and a deep commitment to expressing terroir. Massal selection, plot-by-plot vineyard management, gentle pressing and barrel vinification allow the personality of each lieu-dit to shine through. Today, nearly 80% of the estate’s wines are fermented and aged in wood.

Precise, authentic and distinctive Champagnes that showcase the diversity of Champagne’s soils and grape varieties, with a particular focus on Meunier, the emblematic grape variety of Chavot.
