Montagne de Reims
VINCENT
Since 2018, this young, committed winemaker has been experimenting with his own vineyard management on 2 plots of the family estate. He approaches the vine as a living ecosystem, with its stakeholders and their specific needs. Two main principles are applied here:
NATURE AS A FOUNDATION
Light work on the soil while respecting the soil and living things, resulting for example in natural grassing of the soil in the spring. Preserving biodiversity, by developing homemade compost to enrich the vines with microorganisms and further improve the nutritional quality of the soil. Plant cover is added to each plot to create the organic matter necessary for the development of biodiversity.
AGROFORESTRY
To go further in the development of this ecosystem.
THE VINTAGES
Chemin des Rois and L'Arbre. They are the first vintages of Vincent Cuillier champagnes. A unique range highlighting the work undertaken by Vincent Cuillier since 2015 on the best plots of the family estate in limited edition.
TERROIR
On the heights of Reims, with a breathtaking view, the vines benefit from a unique soil composed of sand from the Thanetian, a geological period located around minus 60 million years ago. Between microfossils, pockets of limestone and clay agglomerates, the grapes draw an expression on the fruit of great purity and an incomparable minerality. It is the turn of the historic villages to reveal all their riches: Pouillon, the dominant sandy-silty soil constitutes a fabulous playground for Pinot Meunier. As for Trigny, the composition of the soil is rather predominantly siliceous sand. Chenay and its succession of small valleys shelter very different plots with yellow sand from Thanetian with shells and fossilized palm trees. Certainly the most complicated terroir to manage, but also and above all the one with the most beautiful results. All of these different elements form a high-quality terroir, very representative of this very special and recognized region that is Champagne.
