Located in the Grand Cru of Louvois for a century, the Domaine Mea was first a story passed down from father to son before it was from father to daughter, then from mother to daughter. Since 2010, Sophie has been at the head of this Estate of nearly 8 hectares, shared between the South (Louvois, Bouzy, Tauxières) and the North (Ludes, Chigny-les-roses, Montbré) of the Montagne de Reims. The soils are mainly limestone and clay-limestone with Campanian chalk and the presence of miller clay stones in the South.
Joined by her husband Franck in 2019, Sophie is focused on respecting nature and the living in the vines. No chemical fertilizers, no herbicides, no pesticides, limited yields, optimal maturities: everything is done to respect each plot and draw the purest expression of terroir. In wines, Sophie strives to perpetuate the family history through the "tradition" range, and gives free rein to her inspirations with the "interpretation" range.
