Located in Avize, the estate was founded in 1989 by Marie-Hélène Larmandier and her husband, Vincent Waris.
Following Vincent's death, Marie-Hélène continued the family business while managing the Guy Larmandier family estate with her brother. After learning biodynamic agriculture with Benoit Lahaye, Jean-Philippe Waris, the eldest son, has been in charge of the vines and winemaking since 2009. Since 2011, using the principles of biodynamic agriculture, he has obtained his Demeter biodynamic certification in 2020.
Today, he is joined by his architect brother, Pierre-Louis, and his sister Ines, designer and sculptor. Together with their mother, they form the “root of three” of Waris-Larmandier, each bringing a unique piece to the artistic vision of this young Champagne estate, consisting mainly of very beautiful old Chardonnay Grand Cru vines on the Côte des Blancs. They also cultivate a little Pinot Noir and Meunier in the Montagne de Reims as well as in the Côte des Bar.
