In Landreville, at the heart of the Côte des Bar, Clément Robert is bringing his family history back to life through Domaine Léon, founded in 2019 as a tribute to his great-grandfather, Léon Robert. The family has been growing vines since the 1820s, and Léon Robert was the first in the family to make his own Champagne in the 1950s.
Across nearly 8 hectares, Clément Robert grows Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Blanc. Since 2019, the vineyard has been transitioning towards organic and biodynamic farming; the estate has been organically certified since 2022 and Demeter-certified since 2024.
In the cellar, the approach is deliberately natural: indigenous yeasts, minimal inputs and ageing in wood. All the cuvées are vintage-dated and made without dosage, allowing the character of the terroir and each vintage to take centre stage.
The result is a range of precise, distinctive Champagnes, deeply rooted in the terroirs of Landreville, to be discovered through the cuvées of Domaine Léon.
