The cuvee

Jean Josselin - Cuvee des Jean NV

This Champagne was the very first created by Jean Josselin in the 1950s.
Since then, each generation of Jean has continued to produce this 100% Pinot Noir wine from several harvests. The grape stalk designed for this label is an allegory of a family tree. This wine is like a link between all the members of our family.

Why this name “Cuvée des Jean”?
In homage to Jean, founder of Maison Jean Josselin in 1957, this 100% Pinot Noir champagne evokes our family history and the transmission of know-how through the line of "Jean" up to today Jean-Pierre, Jean-Félix (and our grandson Jean, born in July 2012).

Philosophy : Precise and reasoned viticulture respecting the soil, the vine, biodiversity and people (TERRA VITIS label), harvest at full maturity and plot-by-plot vinification
Terroir : Côte des Bar, Gyé-sur-Seine, clay-limestone soil on Kimmeridgian calcareous marl
Cultivation : Natural grassing and plowing of the soil. Prophylactic measures (careful pruning, disbudding, leaf removal, careful training)
Grape variety : 100% Pinot Noir
Blend : 60% 2020 harvest and 40% perpetual reserve
Vinification : Press on traditional Coquard. Malolactic fermentation completed, three rackings and one filtration carried out before bottling
Draw : 07/21/2021
Dosage : 3 g/l - Extra-brut
Organoleptic analysis : Flattering nose of white fruits. Gourmet and fresh mouth leaving a pleasant sensation of lightness
Food/wine pairing : Apéritif, grilled red meats, Normandy oysters from the open sea

The Josselin's opinion
Are you more into weekends in the countryside, large tables with friends, grilled rib of beef and cheese? This fruity, powerful and full-bodied champagne is made for you!

The oenologist's opinion
Made from a selection of Pinot Noir vintages from several years, this champagne is powerful and generous.
Its color is golden yellow. Its nose is flattering with notes of hawthorn, apple and stewed strawberry.
On the palate, it is a mixture of liveliness and vinosity with a lot of fruitiness. The finish is vine peach.
