Comptoir Ce/dra - Le Rouge 2024

LE ROUGE • 2024 • COTEAUX CHAMPENOIS

Le Rouge is a red wine made from grapes grown on two plots in the Montagne de Reims. This “natural Champagne red” follows the tradition of delicate yet profound reds, showcasing the characteristic freshness of the region’s soils.

VINTAGE: 2024 was a challenging vintage for growers, with heavy rainfall and severe downy mildew pressure. The wines benefit from limited yields, with concentrated grapes and a vibrant freshness that defines the vintage.

BLEND: 85% Pinot Noir - 15% Meunier • Grapes from a Pinot Noir plot in Villedommange and a Meunier plot in Ludes.

WINEMAKING: 100% whole bunches, pressed in a stainless steel tank. Fermented with indigenous yeasts (pied de cuve) and gently extracted. Aged for 17 months in a large oak vat, then for 1 month in a stainless steel tank. No fining or filtration.

Comptoir Ce/dra • Wines from Champagne

Based in Reims, Comptoir Ce/dra is a micro négociant founded by Alexandra Doillon and Cédric Jardin. Launched in 2022, the project explores another side of the Champagne wine region through Coteaux Champenois made from grapes sourced from different terroirs and from grower friends, including Diane Jacquinet, Bertrand Delespierre, Huré Frères, Tom Gauditiabois, Paul Gosset and many others...

A different vision of Champagne

Without owning its own vineyards, Alexandra and Cédric select grapes from growers who share their vision of wine. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier are crafted with an artisanal, low-intervention approach. In the cellar, winemaking focuses on simplicity: no fining or filtration, with ageing in 228-litre oak barrels and stainless-steel tanks, depending on the cuvée. Through Le Tranquille, Le Rouge and Vallée, Comptoir Ce/dra offers fine, free-spirited and distinctive wines that highlight the freshness, texture and expression of Champagne’s terroirs — without the bubbles.
