The philosophy behind the creation of this Champagne is to let the quintessence of the vintage express itself, during the blending of the grape varieties. Each extra brut vintage will therefore be different in order to perceive all the organoleptic qualities offered by Mother Nature.

Living Tradition and Expression of Terroir in Cumières

Rooted in Cumières since the 17th century, Champagne Geoffroy perpetuates a family expertise passed down from generation to generation. Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy, now at the helm of the estate with his wife Karine, has established the business in Aÿ in a former manor house, blending tradition and modernity. The next generation is already taking shape through their five daughters, ready to bring a fresh perspective to this heritage.

The estate cultivates 14 hectares spread across 35 plots located primarily in Cumières, but also in Damery, Hautvillers, and Fleury-la-Rivière. This terroir, blessed with a unique microclimate and varied exposures, gives rise to characterful Champagnes, made from the three Champagne grape varieties: Pinot Noir (42%), Meunier (34%), and Chardonnay (24%).

Viticulture is demanding yet respectful, involving meticulous soil work (plowing, natural ground cover, organic fertilizers) and constant attention to microbial and plant life. Every action aims to reveal the soul of the grapes and the authenticity of the terroir.

In the cellar, the grapes are sorted and then slowly pressed in traditional Coquard presses, before careful vinification by plot. Malolactic fermentation is avoided to preserve the wines' original freshness. Gravity-fed vinification, a variety of containers (enamelled tanks, large casks, barrels, demi-muids), and extended aging in chalk cellars guarantee the purity, precision, and elegance of the Geoffroy style.

Each cuvée is born from a meticulous tasting, true to a personal vision of taste, before a subtle dosage that perfects the balance and savoriness of these unique Champagnes.
