Nicolas Maillart - Platine NV
Brut - Premier Cru.
This vintage is made from a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier. The reserve wines (30 to 40%), aged in barrels, give this vintage its harmony and consistency.
Village(s) : Villers Allerand 1er cru, Ecueil 1er cru, Bouzy Grand cru
Grape variety : 78% Pinot noir, 16% Chardonnay, 6% Meunier
Soil : Various with clay-limestone in the majority and a low proportion of calcareous sands
Age of vines : More than 30 years. Soil plowing. Treatments are approached using organic, biodynamic and more traditional methods if necessary. Respect for the plant's rhythms.
Vinification : Slow fermentation in barrels and vats with long aging on lees.
Dosage : 6 g/l
Tasting : The color is a deep gold, marking its Pinot Noir dominance, with fine bubbles that rise slowly. The formed bead is persistent, a typical characteristic due to the long aging in the cellar. The nose is very expressive with its notes of ripe fruit (apple, pear, etc.), toasted notes (almonds, toast, etc.) and some floral notes. On the palate, the attack is vinous and ample, a sign of the noble origin of this Cuvée. The light dosage reveals the depth of this Champagne and its intrinsic qualities: fresh and unctuous, supported by a great length.
