Today, the 9th generation is at the helm with Nicolas, who after his studies as an engineer and oenologist, returned in 2003. He thus perpetuates almost 300 years of history and preserves the philosophy of the house: expressing the potential of the Champagne terroirs in the wines.

The vineyard is based solely on the Montagne de Reims, on premier and grands crus. “Established for many years in the vineyard, our ancestors knew how to preserve and select the best terroirs.”

In addition, the vines are quite old, planted mainly in mid-slope, ideal for producing great wines. True to the typicality of the region, the vineyard contains a high proportion of Pinot Noir (75%) supplemented by Chardonnay, thus allowing the fruit and power of the Pinot Noir to blend with the finesse of the Chardonnay.

Vine Culture

“A strong principle guides our choices in the vineyard: respect for balance. Balance is indeed the only way to obtain optimum grape quality. From pruning to harvesting, we carry out as many tasks as possible by hand, which guarantees us adaptation to each vine. We only use organic fertilizers and work the soil with ploughing, which also allows us to improve the plant's environment and therefore its balance. All these methods are also the best guarantees for sustainable viticulture, respectful of the environment. An approach that is dear to our Domaine.

Having long been committed to an environmental approach, we are now certified HVE (High Environmental Value) level 3 and sustainable viticulture, distinctions recognizing our ecological and economic performance. These labels take into account criteria such as biodiversity, phytosanitary strategy, water management, etc.

We are thus one of the first Champagne estates to obtain this double label.”
